Nakuru Open Squash Tournament

Hi Squashers

Nakuru Open Squash Tournament, which was held at Nakuru Rift Valley Squash Club on 28th to 30th October 2011, prooved to be a very Successful event as usual, with a few changes to the outcome.

It was sponsored by Kengen with Price money of Kshs. 60,000/-. We had very exciting matches and must recognise new entrants, Ken Mwangi and Taurees khan for a successful show in the Torunament.

Winners were as follows:
Main Event
Winner - Modecai Kambamba
Runners Up - Ken Mwangi
3rd - Leon Keya

Plate Event
Winner - Talal Mohamed
Runners - Peterson Karigithi
3rd - Taurees Khan

Ladies
Winner - Beatrice Musyoka
Runners up - Flora Bilali
3rd - Maureen Nyargetuba
(I hope I got all the names right)

Kudos to all the participants and for those who missed, you really missed. We had a very good turnout of almost 40 players, many from Nairobi, even more from Nakuru, Nyeri, Embu and spectators from Kisumu too, even though Its unfortunate Juniors were now many.

The usual suspect, Modecai Kabamba has refused to be dethroned from the coveted title of reigning champion of Nakuru open, but we hope that new entrant, Ken Mwangi and the always upcoming and never reaching star, Leon Keya can do something about it next year.

All thanks goes to Rift Valley Sports Club and Club Squash Captain Mr. Enos and Company, for hosting the tournament, Kengen for Sponsoring the tournament, all the players and Participants and KSRA for providing organisation for the tournament through Leon Keya who did a fantastic job at organising it.

We look forward to having a bigger event next year.
